Pro­duc­tion process

Our lamps are made 100% from wood, hand­crafted with care for the environment.

To cre­ate them, we use beech ply­wood and ash veneer. We care­fully select both types of wood, focus­ing on the high­est qual­ity and atten­tion to every detail.

Com­mon Ash, belong­ing to the olive fam­ily, is a long-​lived tree that can live for over 300 years. It is one of the tallest trees in Europe, reach­ing heights of 30 – 40 meters. It pro­duces wood of very good qual­ity. It is known for its hard­ness while main­tain­ing con­sid­er­able flex­i­bil­ity, which is why it used to be used for mak­ing bows, spears, skis, and ten­nis rack­ets. Nowa­days, it is widely used in fur­ni­ture mak­ing and gui­tar pro­duc­tion. Due to its hard­ness, elas­tic­ity, and rich grain, it is an ideal mate­r­ial for build­ing our lamps. Each of our lamps is unique and one-​of-​a-​kind, just like the wood it is made from.

Com­mon beech, one of the old­est decid­u­ous tree species in Europe, is char­ac­ter­ized by a durable, solid struc­ture that is also flex­i­ble for pro­cess­ing. It is an exclu­sive, slow-​growing tree, which is why it takes longer to obtain the raw mate­r­ial. It has a nat­ural, sub­tle and visu­ally pleas­ing shade that gives objects made from it a sense of style and ele­gance. It is resis­tant to mechan­i­cal dam­age and very durable.

The wood we use to make our lamps is a nat­ural mate­r­ial and dif­fer­ent batches of the raw mate­r­ial we use have dif­fer­ent wood grain pat­terns, which is why each piece is unique. The pho­tos on the web­site may also dif­fer from the lamp that will end up in your hands.
